Sharon Lee Flake, 75, of Columbus and formerly of Bloomington died Monday, June 3, 2019 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born September 18, 1943 in Sardinia, Indiana to Ernest Agnew and Joy Turner Agnew. She was a self-employed seamstress.
Survivors include her daughter, Regena Brooks of Brown County; two sons, Randall (Tammy) Herrin of Columbus and Mark (Darina) Herrin of Brown County; six grandchildren, Dalton (Katie) Herrin, Sarah (Caleb) White, Seth (Meagan) Herrin, Casey (Myra) Herrin, Ryan Gill and Eric Kelly; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Flake; and many siblings.
Sharon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Highland Ward and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 14, of Columbus. She enjoyed painting, drawing, spending time with her grandchildren and helping with the Boy Scouts. She had a real soft spot for youth, and would hold garage sales to raise money for scouting activities.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, June 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Bishop Doug Anderson officiating. Private burial will take place in Solsberry Cemetery.
