Tracy was born on June 30, 1946 to Metellus G. Clay and Doris Ferguson Clay in Bloomington, Indiana. After graduating from Bloomington High School in 1964 where he lettered in football, basketball, baseball, Tracy went on to study business at Kelley School of Business Indiana University.
After completing the Bachelor of Science in Business, Tracy worked many years in the banking industry and served as vice president of First National Bank of Bloomington, where small town banking and customer service brought him great joy. While in Bloomington, he was very involved in the community serving in many roles: President of the Chamber of Commerce, Monroe County Public Library Board of Directors, one of the founders of the 4th Street Art Fair, and board member of COTA (Children Organ Transplant Association). Tracy also participated with a team of community members and Mayor Frank McCloskey when Bloomington received The All-America City Award. Prior to his retirement, Tracy worked for Gleaner’s Food Bank procuring funds and groceries to feed families in Indiana. He found the work with Gleaner’s the most rewarding of his work career.
Tracy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He truly possessed a servant heart and was always giving to others, and he enjoyed ministering to others who were down or in need. Tracy also served as an elder at First Christian Church, Spencer, Indiana prior to moving to Florida. During his time with us, Tracy touched many lives providing comfort and support or a humorous story in difficult times.
