Terri LaVern Mattress, age 55, went to be with the Lord after a tragic car accident in Wyomissing, PA on Sunday, May 12, 2019. She was born January 13, 1964 in Queens, NY to Robert and Lavern Motley. She is a 1982 graduate of Bloomington High School North and attended Indiana University for several years. She later became the sportswear manager and buyer at T.I.S College Bookstore where she worked for 25 years making lifelong relationships with coworkers, students, and vendors.
Terri was a major IU and Steelers fan. She enjoyed watching western tv shows, sharing her Neora anti-aging business, and was a faithful member of Lighthouse Community Church. She was well known for her sweet heart and beautiful smile that illuminated pure joy and love wherever she went.
Terri married Ricky Mattress in Bloomington, IN on November 21, 1998.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her daughter, Shakaya Campbell.
Terri was survived by her mother, LaVern Motley, who later passed on May 23, 2019 as a result of the car accident.
Left to honor Terri and continue spreading her love is her husband Ricky; her father, Robert; her brother, Anthony “Bob” (wife Jackie); and her 4 children, Briana Campbell, Johnny Mattress, Nikki Mattress and Ricky Mattress, Jr. as well as 3 grandchildren, 3 nephews, and 1 niece.
Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Terri are welcome to join her homegoing service held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:30 am at Lighthouse Community Church, 850 E. Winslow Rd., Bloomington, with Pastor Derek House officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens, Bloomington. The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third Street, Bloomington.
