

Thelma E. Smith, 90 of Bloomington died October 20, 2015 in I.U. Health, Hospice House. She was born January 26, 1925 in Williams, IN to Edgar and Agnes White Beasley. She later moved to Indianapolis where she met and married Walter Smith.
She and Walter first moved to California and then to Reno, Nevada where Thelma lived for 34 years before moving to Bloomington in 2012.
Thelma worked most of her life with various manufacturing companies and after her retirement was very active in Reno with a local hospital as a volunteer and with a Senior Citizens group. Her life was devoted to helping others and to her church.
Survivors include her son, Charles Allen Beasley and his wife Marge of Bloomington; two sisters, Helen Quillen and her husband Marvin of Bedford and Mary Lou Aitchison and her husband Gary of Arizona; a brother, Arthur K. Beasley of California; four grandchildren, Bryan Beasley and his wife Cami of Williams, Eric Beasley and his wife Sheri of Indianapolis, Thea Beasley and Rhea Wilson both of Bedford; five great-grandchildren, Joel Beasley of Bedford, Emily, Annie, Megan and Elizabeth Beasley of Indianapolis; dear friends, Sue Gates and Nancy and Laird Smith; and several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Walter Smith; and a brother who died in infancy.
There are no services scheduled, arrangements have been entrusted to Day & Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 4150 E Third St. Thelma and Walter will be inurned together in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to the I.U. Health Hospice House, 2810 S Deborah Dr., Bloomington, IN 47403.
