Vicky Irene Hicks

Vicky I. Hicks, 65, died June 5, 2019 in I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born on September 14, 1953 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Vicky has been a resident of Bloomington for many years and was employed at I.U. Hospital for over 40 years. She was working in pulmonary rehab and planned to retire in December 2019. She also worked as a respiratory therapist, was a certified asthma educator and also worked at the Wound Center. Vicky is survived by her loving husband, Norman Hicks; her son, Clayton Hicks; her mother, Evelyn Ford; sister, Janice Parker and family; step-sister, Cindy Ford and family; step-sister, Dolly Markle and step-brother, Michael Ford. She was preceded in death by her father, James Vincent and her grandmother, Frances Dollar. Vicky will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness to all, her selflessness and her unrelenting passion for patient advocacy. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, Indiana 47401.
