

Wallace Ray Corbin, age 93, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born October 29, 1931, in Lawrence County, Indiana, he was the son of Clyde W. and Geneva Emily (Owens) Corbin. He served in the Signal Corps with the U.S. Army. He retired as a manager of the food storage room at Indiana University. In his younger days, he enjoyed golf and bowling, but throughout his many years of life, he enjoyed sports of all kinds. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and assisting with making peanut brittle with his daughter, Marcia, around the Christmas holidays. He loved his many friends and family members. He was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Marcia (Tim) Hays, of Bloomington and Sharon Dopirak, of Fate, Texas; two sons Robert Ray, of Bloomington and Michael Ray (Marialena) Corbin, also of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Mark Corbin, Tracie Wilson, Karri Scott, Dustin Ray, Michele Snyder, Michael Corbin II and Mitchell Corbin; sixteen great-grandchildren, Justus Corbin, Judah Corbin, Noelle Corbin, Colton Corbin, Darius Shojaei, Kayla Scott, Daelan Scott, Anna-Maghen Krams, Jon Wallace Reed, Devin Ray, Addison Ray, Knolen Ray, Skyler Corbin, Sofia Corbin, Trever Corbin and Tanner Corbin.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Maxine (Wright) Corbin, one son, Mark Antony Corbin, five sisters, Jeanette Tandy, Louise Herman, Frances Wiles, Martha Jean Quillen and infant, Joyce Corbin, two brothers, Kenneth Corbin and Donald Corbin and one granddaughter, Wendi Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11 at Clear Creek Cemetery with Pastor Greg Eads officiating. Interment will follow the service. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
There will be a gathering at the home of Wallace for friends and family after the service.
