

Charlotte S. “Jean” Roten, 77 of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, September 19, 2021. Born in Lerona, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Edward and Frances Katherine Lawson Witt. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Bluefield, VA, where she served as Sunday school teacher, choir and worship leader. She also attended Full Gospel Church in Boissevain, VA and was active in the singing ministry. Jean was a prayer warrior and loved to read her Bible. She loved family get-togethers and just being with her family. Her life could be summed up in Faith and Family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul Andrew Roten; siblings: Doris Ann Thompson, Darles Lee Akers, Ronald David Witt, Mary Frances Johnston, Ivy Jane Witt and Melissa Faye Price.
She will be lovingly missed by her children: Scott Roten, Chris Roten (Tammy), Diane McGuire, Rebecca Roten all of Bluefield, VA and Lillian Johnston (Justin Asbury) of Radford, VA; sister: Patricia “Pat” Pendleton of Oakvale, WV; grandchildren: McKenzy McGuire (Chelsy), Isaac Roten, Charls Roten, Britni Johnston, James Roten and Priscilla Roten; great-grandchildren: Ayden and Luka McGuire; numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Saturday, September, 25, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Vic Phillips and Pastor Harold Chinsolo officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tony Lucas, Charls Roten, Douglas Sluss, Daniel Lawson, Eddie Lawson and Seth Lucas.
