Alvin R. Carlile

Alvin R. Carlile passed away on June 4th, 2023 at the age of 90, in Star, Idaho, where he lived with his daughter.

Al was born to Robert Arden and Deon Fortie Carlile on December 28th, 1932. He had two older sisters, Maretta and Reva.

He graduated from Orem high school, then attended BYU for a year before being drafted into the United States Army, serving two years with an honorable discharge. He later returned to BYU where he met his future wife, Kay Elaine Hackney. They were married July 21st, 1959, in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. He received his degree in Business management and economics. After graduating he accepted a job with Texaco Inc. in Seattle where he worked for 35 years before retiring. Al and Kay enjoyed traveling the world with their friends.

They had seven children: Kraig (Krissy), Clark (Tamara), Kristi Matson(Kendall), Julie Sherwood (Cameron), Bryan, Brett (Brianna), Derek (Forrest).

He loved spending time with his family and always made everyone feel loved. He loved to serve the Lord and spent many years ministering in callings such as Bishop, Branch President and Patriarch.

Al is survived by his 7 children, 21 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, sisters, loving wife, and granddaughter Jenna.
