Bill was born to parents Ichijuro and Ritsu Tamura. He was married to May for 65 years, they lived in their Bellevue residence up until March of 2020 when they moved to their current residence in Bothell. Bill died at home peacefully in his sleep at 2:45 am, surrounded by his immediate family. He was 94.
Bill is survived by his wife May, his two sons Gary (Kandi) and Gordon (Janet), five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. When he got out of the Army, Bill and his brothers started Tamura Brothers Landscaping, which he did for fifty years in and around the Bellevue area.
Bill’s favorite things to do were fishing, his cars, mochi making, mushroom picking, and loved going to the casinos in which he was very lucky. Bill loved to laugh and had the best smile. Bill’s garden was the best and you could always count on him to share his bounty. His yard was always full of various beautiful flowers and took pride in his yard.
Bill belonged to Kishu Club and the local Hot Rod Club.
He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers: Toshi Van Bebber, Marion Kosai, Mary Dodobara, Joe Tamura, Minnie Sotowa, George Tamura, Marge Sumi, and Tom Tamura.
Due to current circumstances the family has decided not to hold a service.
