David Michael and Lynn Marie Gates

David Michael Gates was born on December 30, 1966, in South Bend, Washington, to Donald and Lavina Gates. Lynn Marie Gates was born on November 14, 1958, in Seattle, Washington, to Paul Erdman and Eileen Smith.

Dave and Lynn were married on May 15, 1993, at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood. Their wedding reflected their personalities perfectly—Dave made his unforgettable entrance descending a glass elevator to Metallica's Enter Sandman, while Lynn followed from the opposite elevator to beautiful classical music.

Together they built a life centered on family. They welcomed their sons, Mason in 1993 and Jesse in 1994 and created countless memories camping in their travel trailer during the summers and snowmobiling with family and friends in the winters. In 2008, the family moved from Shoreline to five acres in Stanwood, Washington, where they continued making memories together.

Lynn was known for her fun-loving, competitive spirit and loved bringing people together for games and laughter. Dave was a quiet, hardworking man who enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his family, and, in his later years, lovingly caring for Lynn.

Dave and Lynn will be remembered for their kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for their family and friends. Their home was always welcoming, their love was evident in everything they did, and the memories they created with those around them will be cherished forever.

Though separated for only a short time, Dave and Lynn are together once again, forever in the hearts of those who loved them.
