Mom was born Emma Mildred Feola in 1930, in Boston’s Northend. She was the youngest of six siblings to Antonio and Elvira Feola. It was there that Mom met our Dad, Paul Gordon Sewell, in 1948 while he was in the Navy. They married in 1949 and began their lives together, making Philadelphia, Japan, Great Lakes, IL, Hayward, CA, Seattle, and finally Mountlake Terrace their homes during Dad’s 20 year naval career, while Mom held down the fort raising their six children.
Family was Mom’s focus; whether it was cooking in the kitchen (lots of cooking!), cleaning, driving kids to school, sports, piano lessons, or sewing/knitting, she put her heart into her children and instilled values for them to live by.
Emma loved her friendships with long-time friends Loraine and Pete Bellecy, Jessie and Lew Elliot, and their families. There was never a dull moment when they got together on frequent occasions!
Emma is survived by her six children and their spouses: Tom and Connie, Greg and Linda, Paula and Bruce, David and Jacqui, Ann Marie and Mitch, and Richard and Christy. Emma is also Nunnie to her twelve Grandchildren: Paul, Mikey, Stephen, Katelyn, Tom, Alex, Amanda, Rebecca, Emily, Jamie, Derek, Trent, and her six Great Grandchildren: Quinn, Ty, Wyatt, Evelyn, Blaine, and Tommy. Her husband of 32 years, Dick, died all too soon in 1981.
Mom will be laid to rest Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Holyrood Cemetery, alongside her beloved husband Dick.
She will rejoin her husband and friends, and you will hear lots of laughter coming from the heavens.
We love you, Mom❤️ Rest In Peace, you will be deeply missed…
A graveside service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St, Shoreline, Shoreline, WA 98155.
