Hayden Edward Hall III, 60, passed away on July 4 after a courageous and lengthy battle with lymphoma. Born on September 16, 1964, Hayden lived with heart, humor, and an enduring spirit that touched everyone around him.
After graduating from Olympic High School in Bremerton in 1982, Hayden attended the University of Washington, where he was a proud member of the Husky Marching Band—bringing energy and spirit to every game and performance. He later followed in his mother Annie’s footsteps and entered the field of education, beginning as a paraprofessional before earning his mathematics degree. Hayden went on to become a deeply respected math teacher, working primarily with students with language-based learning disabilities. His most recent position was at Hamlin Robinson School in Seattle, where his patience and creativity made complex ideas come alive.
Hayden also built a joyful and enduring presence beyond the classroom. In 1991, he founded Mobile One Disc Jockey, a business that became a favorite across the community. Whether spinning tracks for weddings, school dances, or parties, Hayden created unforgettable experiences—and often ended up being re-hired by the same families years later, as generations sought out the DJ who helped make their milestones magical. He also mentored aspiring DJs, generously sharing his experience and passion with the next wave of performers.
A longtime resident of Lynnwood, WA, Hayden embraced both being a sports fan and fitness. He was a devoted supporter of the Seahawks, the Mariners, and the beloved Sonics, and was a UW football season-ticket holder. But he didn’t just cheer from the sidelines—Hayden was also a runner and cyclist who completed the Seattle Marathon multiple times (to be confirmed), and took on the grueling RAMROD bike ride around Mt. Rainier. At every event, one thing remained constant: a bag of popcorn always in hand.
Hayden found joy in the everyday. He loved board games of all kinds, sports video games, prime-time soap operas, and professional wrestling—never missing a live event when it came through town. A lifelong movie buff, his ever-growing collection spanned hundreds of VHS tapes, DVDs, and Blu-Rays. He also stayed active in the Mercer Island Outdoor Fitness Group, where he connected with others through wellness and community.
He is survived by his brother Brent, sister-in-law Elsa, and nephew Brent Jr., extended family—along with countless friends, colleagues, and those whose lives he brightened over the years.
A celebration of life will be held to celebrate Hayden’s life and the joy he brought to others. If you have any questions regarding the details of the service, please reach out to [email protected].
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Hayden’s memory by embracing those you love—and taking a moment to appreciate the beauty in ordinary days and the Hamlin Robinson School is working on the “ Hayden Hall Legacy Math Resource and Scholarship Fund.” in his honor.
Hayden is loved and truly will be missed.
