With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Joycelyn Rose. Our mother passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on her birthday. Mom fought a long battle with dementia. Her sweet dispositions stayed with her and she always had a smile to greet everyone. We were so blessed to have her love and in our lives.
Joycelyn was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 7, 1937. Mom had many jobs; mostly raising us kids, Boeing, Iron work and managing a fishing store for many years with her husband - Walt Rose. They were married for 57 years. Mom had a full life and had many outdoor adventures camping and hunting. She loved all her dogs too.
We will miss our mom dearly and will hold onto our fond memories close to our hearts and remember the love we shared. We were blessed to have her.
She is survived by her daughters and sons: Kim Ferguson, Rhonda Wilson, Vic Rose and Gordon Rose; grandchildren, and her sister Marlene Cashen.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
