Lois Evelyn Harwood left this world on September 11th, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of kindness, generosity, and deep devotion to her family.
Throughout her 85 years, Lois touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Who could ever forget that amazingly beautiful smile she shared so freely and so often?
Her joyful spirit was most evident in the family gatherings she loved to host. From Sunday roast beef dinners and Easter egg hunts for kids of all ages, to family gatherings throughout her favorite holiday, Christmas, and every holiday in between, Lois welcomed everyone with open arms. She even made sure there was a gift for someone she didn’t know to open. That is why she will forever be known as “Mrs. Claus.”
Her love of travel and family came together in so many wonderful ways over the years, including trips she created for her children and grandchildren to experience the magic of Disneyland. Lois and her husband, Al, shared many amazing adventures together, and her passion for travel eventually blossomed into a luxury cruise travel business. Every client experienced the same personal attention, care, and incredible level of detail that Lois gave to everything she did.
And we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the Geese.
Lois placed two plastic geese at her front doorstep, and they proudly donned new outfits for every holiday and sporting event. She found so much joy in the joy those geese brought to everyone who visited, especially the giggles and laughter of the neighborhood children when they saw what the geese were wearing. It was just another little way Lois brought happiness into the world.
She shared her love and joy unconditionally and never asked for anything in return. She can rest peacefully knowing the impact she made and the beautiful lesson she left with all of us:
Be kind. Be generous. Laugh. And love.
An angel has been delivered to Heaven, with her love reaching beyond the stars and her beautiful smile shining down through sunbeams and rainbows.
God has His angel with wings.
Rest peacefully, Lois. You will be loved, remembered, and missed beyond words.
