Marie Louise Bapst, beloved mother to Patricia Linville (Troy), Guinevere McMahon (John), Jennifer Bapst, and Timothy Bapst, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Marie was known for her hospitality, grace, kindness, hugs, and love of others, and will be dearly missed by all who were the recipients of her friendship and care. God gifted Marie with a love of beauty that translated into painting, interior decorating, gardening, calligraphy, textile arts, floral design, and a love of fluffy creatures and nature. She had a profound and devoted faith in Jesus Christ and spent time reading scripture and ministering to so many people as she lifted them in intercessory prayer. She regularly swept the Devil out of her house with a broom and spent many happy hours talking to God while she tended her precious flowers. Marie’s devotion to God was lived out in the way she loved us and ministered to God’s people through the sacrament of Communion.
Although Marie was trapped in the throes of dementia for the last several years of her life, she continued to love everyone God put in her life with a smile, a twinkle in her eye, and a warm hug. Marie would want us to rejoice that she is free from her disease and is enjoying eternal life in Heaven, in the company of her beloved Savior, her husband, Jennis, and brother, Fred Ragan. Marie is survived by her brothers, Don Ragan and Ed Ragan, and by her sister, Kathy Haner, and her grandchildren: Trevor Linville (Katie), Thaddaeus Linville (Tabatha), Catriona Robles (Juan), Kylie McMahon, Haley Bapst, and Jacob Bapst, and great grandchildren: Benjamin Linville, Orion Linville, and Noah Linville.
An interment ceremony will be held at Holyrood Cemetery on July 15th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., and the family will receive friends there. Flowers and memorial gifts are appreciated but not necessary.
