We will miss our BHS classmate, Ron… a tough guy with a warm heart and welcoming grin. I will continue to look for his truck at the  Horseshoe parking lot in Woodinville, remembering him and feeling his presence. Sympathies to his family.

I am very sorry to hear of Ron's passing.  I was a neighbor of Ron's for 15 years and he was always friendly and always seemed to be sporting a smile. I recall him coming to my aid one time with some break fluid, an incredibly wonderful old school Bothell gesture.  I was always impressed with his fitness as he always had the physique of someone 20 years younger.  My thoughts go out to his family during this time.  Thanks Ron for your approach to life and for the influence you had on others.

I am still in shock. Ron Smethurst is invincible. The tough guy with a huge  heart.  My first memory of Ron was 1963. I was a scrawny 12 year old walking up the street and some tough older kids decided to push me around.  Ron yelled at them from a block away and they took off. Ron shouted a message to make sure I was ok.  He became my hero and as the years went by only added to his fame in my mind.  Rest in peace Marine.  You were respected. You were loved.

I knew Ron from kindergarten to High School, best friends.  He went into the Marines I went to the Navy.  He stayed in Bothell , I went to California. Such a good friend and man.  He will be missed more than you can think.  Bud , his Dad, use to pick all us kids up in his pickup and take us to Church, after he would take us to Sadies Pharmacy for Ice Cream.  So many Memories.  RIP Friend, see you soon.

I really enjoyed getting to know Ron during our times at The Cut  Shop.  We had fun talking about our lifetimes spent in Bothell and Woodinville.  Matt and I will miss you Ron.  And Debra, you have our heartfelt sympathy.
