Santiago H. Mejia, Jr.
June 27, 1973 – September 26, 2025
Bothell, Washington
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Santiago H. Mejia, Jr. ("Tigo"), 52, of Bothell, WA, who passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Seattle during a routine medical procedure. He had recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition affecting his kidney function—a challenge he faced privately, and with quiet strength.
Tigo was born in Washington, D.C and graduated from Edison High School in 1991, the same year he welcomed his first son, Nicholas. Later in life, he proudly earned a degree in Finance from Saint Martin’s College.
His life journey brought him from one Washington to another, where he met Angel and built a beautiful life full of love, laughter, and devotion to family. Together they raised two incredible children, Jordyn (18) and Santiago III (17). Their family is tightly bonded through sports, a shared love of animals, a knack for finding humor in everyday life, and countless Marvel movie nights. Tigo was especially proud to see Jordyn begin her college journey and Santi start boarding school this fall.
A lifelong fan of his hometown teams—the Capitals and the Orioles—Tigo was most loyal to the Washington Commanders (forever the Redskins in his heart). But above all, Tigo was a devoted sports dad. He poured his heart into supporting his children, especially as a legendary lacrosse dad, building friendships with fellow families across the country. He loved being on the sidelines, celebrating after games, and cherishing the sense of community that sports brought to their lives.
Tigo's warmth, humor, loyalty, and deep love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.
