Loved this man like the brother I never had. Tickle me tigo and the DS was one of my all time photos and memories we had as brothers!

I met Tigo while working at Progressive. Tigo and I quickly became friends and I consider him one of my good friends.  He was always quick with a smile and a joke and I can say I have never met anyone more friendly to all than Tigo.  I have great memories of our work travel trips, hanging with him at his place, and shutting down the Horseshoe saloon in Woodinville. We had great exchanges on the Redskins and “Sea Chickens.” He wore his Redskin jersey with pride in our Seahawks section I look back on that and smile.  I know Tigo is kicking back with a Jack and Coke with Shawn Taylor looking down smiling at all of us.  Here’s to you Tigo you will be missed!

I wouldn’t say I have one specific favorite memory with Tigo, but what I can tell you is this — when you were around him, you felt it. His energy pulled you in like sunshine on a cold day. He was warm, magnetic, and that laugh — oh, that laugh. If you knew him, you know exactly what I mean. That sound, that joy, is something I’ll carry with me forever.

My dear friend, Tigo.

I met you during a basketball combine for pre-teens in the 1980's. I believe I was in sixth grade; you were in fifth.  You were known as Santiago. Little did I know our meeting would plant the seed for a future friendship. We became friends in high school, and at this time, you were known as Santi. The nickname Santi didn't last. Later in high school, you became Tigo. A unique name that stuck. I have never met another Tigo, and probably never will. If I do, you will always be the original Tigo. There will never be another you. After high school, we chose different paths (for a few years anyway). By the mid 90's, we were hanging out and spending a lot of time together. We had places to go and people to see. I cherish those times. The 2000's arrived and life took you to the Seattle area. Even though we wouldn't be as close as we once were, we remained friends. Eventually, you started dating a wonderful woman, got married, had wonderful kids. I am so happy you got to experience being a family man in Washington. Being a family man myself, there's no other feeling like it. I still can't believe you're gone. Part of me thinks you'll call any minute, laughing hysterically, saying gotcha man, gotcha! Tigo. I miss you. Your family and friends miss you. All of us miss you. Now, you're up in Heaven with God and Jesus. I'll see you when I get there.

I will never forget watching Bothell Junior Cougar Football with Tigo.  Some of those games were really tough losses and not many were wins.  However,  there was always something to laugh about.  Tigo was so easy for anybody to talk to.  He was easy to have a conversation with.  He was a devoted father, always positive,  supportive of his kids and the team.  I pray for healing and peace for his family.

I worked with Tigo during my time at Progressive in 2006-2008. As my first job out of college, I was very green, very sensitive, & beyond gullible. Tigo gently coached me through tricky interactions with customers and body shop personnel who didn't make the job easy.  His constant sarcasm playfully giving us all a hard time made the days  fly by teaching valuable lessons about working with the world. He looked out for me at a time when my common sense hadn't developed yet. While I haven't been in touch with him for several years, I remember those times fondly.  He helped create an environment that felt safe and fun. I'll remember him for his laugh and all the good-natured crap he gave me.

Our family is awfully sad to hear this news. He was always such a kind person, a great friend, and fun to be around. Although we haven’t seen Tigo since the early 2000’s we have  fond memories of our youth with him. Pile ons, parties, pick up basketball, hanging out in Old Town, the good old days. Cheers Tigo!  May you rest in peace and know how much you were loved. ♥️

I used to work closely with Angel and would run into Tigo from time to time. Always had an infectious smile, so much so that he would naturally brighten your day. Literally just running into Tigo in the hall and you're going to feel better. Thats a rare quality that only a few have, Tigo had it. I know how involved he was with Angel and the kids. He was a shining example as to how to love and care for those important to you. Ask anyone that ever spoke to Tigo and they will either talk about his smile or that he is such a great guy. Both were very accurate. I saw it the second I met him. You were a light in a dark world my friend, rest easy and the impact u had on people was simply tremendous!

Will miss my Brother-in-law. He was an amazing man who dearly loved his family.

I had the great privilege of working with Tigo. His positivity was infectious, and you could always hear his smile through the phone. Tigo was known for his favorite Macho Man Randy Savage shirt, which he often wore to our team meetings. The way he talked about it made it clear he was a true fan.

Once, I asked my team what they would do if they won the lottery. Tigo said he would buy property in New Zealand and move his family there. When I asked why, he explained that it just looked like a beautiful place in the Lord of the Rings movies. That moment made me realize there was so much more to Tigo that I wanted to know.

Tigo often spoke about his family. His daughter was heading off to college and his son had been accepted to a school on the east coast. To say Tigo was proud would be an understatement. I knew more about his family’s accomplishments than his own, because he was always eager to share their successes. He recently told me he was nervous about becoming an empty nester but excited to experience it with his wife, Angel. The love he had for Angel was undeniable.

I feel very fortunate to have worked with Tigo and to have gotten to know him over the years. He will always have a special place in our hearts.

Rest in peace Tigo.
