She was born in Portland, Oregon to Vern and Margaret Portin, and later moved to Seattle as a child. Sue got her Bachelor's degree in teaching from Central Washington University, and then went on to become a Registered Nurse. Sue had two sons, Aaron and Dan from her first marriage. She then met and married Art DePalma in 1985 and became a blended family. Sue loved her church and faith and devoted much time to it. One of her greatest joys was becoming a grandmother. She doted on the grandkids and enjoyed showing them her love of the outdoors, crafting, and quilting. Sue will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
