Dr Greenburg was my supervising attending surgeon during my residency at UCSD from 1981-87. I remember him fondly and with great respect. He taught me about the practice of surgery, honesty and respect. He was a great teacher. I was saddened to hear of his passing, but grateful for all the wisdom he dispensed so generously.

Dear Reva and family, 
My deepest sympathy and prayers to all of you during this time. Gerson was my leader, my confidante, mentor and dear friend. We shared many days together taking excellent care of our patients, nurses, physicians, residents and all the surgical teams and staff in the hospital. I am so sad to hear of his passing but wanted you to hear what a great man and surgeon he was. The years at The Miriam were unique and special in the RI healthcare systems. He was brilliant, humble, kind and such a strong leader in the most difficult situations. Patient care was number 1 for us and we worked hard together with our teams. He has influenced my life in so many ways and taught me invaluable lessons. You are in my prayers and he will always be the best! Please let me know your address and keep in touch. Reva and family, Harriet and I are so saddened by the news of Gerson’s passing. We so respected him and enjoyed his company. I particularly liked his quiet restraint when others with far less expertise were expounding less informed opinions. We love you and hope the joy of memories together and the knowledge of his life so fully lived will ease some of your grief.
