

Anne Catherine Dillon, 46, of Boulder passed away on Saturday, September 8th. Anne was born in Denver on August 7, 1966. She received a BS in chemistry from MIT in 1988 and a PhD in chemistry from Stanford in 1993. Anne was an accomplished scientist who spent her career at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden. Over the years she collaborated extensively with other scientists from around the world, and she was especially pleased when she could mentor younger women in science. She was an avid runner and cyclist who completed the Leadville Trail 100 MTB race twice. Anne loved all animals and was especially fond of her cats. Anne is survived by her husband, Richard Mirin, and her mother, Marjorie Dillon, of Wheat Ridge, as well as numerous friends and family. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Dillon, in 2011. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 18th, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1985 Miller Street, Lakewood, at 10 AM, followed by lunch. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to MIT for the Anne Catherine Dillon (1988) Memorial Fund.
