With profound sadness, the family of Anne Miller Larsen announces her passing on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder, Colorado. Born August 11, 1976, in Fort Collins, Anne is survived by husband Peter Larsen, her children Peyton Diane (16), Abigail Anne (13) and Joseph William (9) all of Lafayette, Colorado; brother Robert W. Miller (Marcy); her parents Robert N. Miller and Diane W. Miller.
Anne was always a perpetual source of immeasurable joy and enduring pride. Altruism and fierce ambition were embedded into her DNA. Her 46 years on Earth have left a legacy of relentless hard work and love that will forever guide her posterity and challenge them to live life to its fullest.
Anne grew up in Greeley, Colo., and attended Scott Elementary School, Maplewood Middle School, Heath Junior High, and graduated with honors from Greeley Central in 1995. Her many achievements as a Wildcat include National Honor Society, student council president, homecoming and prom queens. A favorite memory is her time on the varsity tennis team. In 1995 Anne was part of a state runner-up team, earning a silver medal in No. 1 doubles.
In her academic career she took on leadership roles wherever she went – entirely too many to fit all into a single obituary. Anne was elected class president almost every year of her schooling, beginning in elementary school and continuing through each year of college at the University of Denver. There she was a Dean’s List graduate and a proud member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Recipient of multiple academic and social achievements, including the University’s prestigious Pioneer Award, Anne was also afforded the distinguished honor of delivering the commencement address to DU’s graduating Class of 1999.
Because of her life-long passion for travel and aviation – loves that prompted her to earn her private pilot’s license during her high school years – Anne pursued a career in the airline industry. After college she worked for both United and Frontier Airlines in managerial roles. At the time, United had never hired a younger manager. Ultimately her career path led to State Farm, for whom she opened an agency in 2005 in Lafayette, Colorado. She spent the next 17 years with the company, earning numerous state-wide and regional accolades.
Not only did Anne’s family benefit from her talents and skills but so did her community. She graciously volunteered her support to the Children’s Museum of Denver, Girls, Inc., the University of Denver Alumni Association, Peak 2 Peak Charter School, and Chapter BE, P.E.O.
Her highest honor, however, was her title of wife and mother. Anne loved nothing more than doting over her family, attending sporting and school events for the kids, and taking family trips literally anywhere – among her most beloved spots were Avon, Colo., any tropical destination, and her trips to foggy London, enjoying the rich history of the country, its monarchy and high tea!
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Floy and Donald Wilmarth of Corning, Iowa; paternal grandparents Doris and Robert “Hack” Miller of Grand Junction, Colo. Her infectious smile, beautiful personality and impeccable character will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30am followed by Mass at 11:00am on August 11, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 715 Cabrini Drive, in Lafayette, Colorado.
Following the service, a Celebration of Life for Anne will be held at the Greeley Country Club, 4500 W. 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Sister Carmen Community Food Bank in Lafayette.
