Arline Kathryn Yinger

Arline was born on December 9, 1942, in Laurelton, NY, to John and Bertha Oetzman. She worked as a secretary with Bell Telephone Laboratories, where she met her husband. On February 17, 1962 she married Dennis Yinger. They raised a daughter, Bonnie, and a son, Glenn. She later worked at Bear Creek Elementary School as a school aide for nineteen years.

Arline spent a lot of time working and volunteering for charitable organizations. She combined her love of horses and desire to volunteer by assisting adults and children at the Therapeutic Riding Center in Longmont, CO. Arline also devoted many years to the Pioneer Club. She helped with the Special Olympics (blind bowling, blind baseball). She administered hearing tests to newborns and she would sew heart-shaped pillows for local hospitals to give to surgery patients. After the Pioneer Club stopped the heart-shaped pillow program, she continued making them on her own, contributing her own creative twist to each pillow.

Arline was a dedicated and loving grandmother to her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She loved attending their sporting events/recitals, reading and playing games with her great-granddaughter, and visiting with her family and friends. She was known for her generosity, her devotion to her husband of 58 years, her quirky New York accent, incredible cooking skills, and being an overall terrific lady.

Arline was preceded in death by her father, John, mother, Bertha, sister, Elaine, and brother-in-law, George. She is survived by her husband Dennis, two children Bonnie (Phil) and Glenn (Tracey), brother John (Barbara), her six grandchildren, Dené (Aaron), Kyle (Cailey), Juliette (Derrick), Brandon, Kirsten, Andrew, and four great-grandchildren, Grace, Thatcher, Landyn, and Beau.

Arline was incredibly cherished and loved, she will be dearly missed. A celebration of Arline’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Judes, Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center, and Tru Community Care.
