Her parents were Maxine and Herb Schmidt and she had two sisters Connie and Jennifer. In 1949, when Suzie was 5 years old, her mother Maxine opened the Suzie Q shop in Estes Park and sold handmade little girls dresses.
Suzie and her family lived in Boulder, Colorado, where she grew up and met her beloved husband, Jim. Suzie and Jim were married on March 26, 1965, and shared 60 wonderful years together, building a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. They raised two children, Kellie and Ken, and cherished their growing family through grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim and Suzie shared a passion for sailing. Together, they became certified in coastal navigation, chartered a 38-foot sailboat, and explored the British Virgin Islands. They also spent many happy days sailing their 28-foot Catalina sailboat at Cherry Creek Reservoir.
Suzie was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, quick wit, and joyful spirit. Her laughter and love touched everyone who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
