Carl Moughan Moseley, 65, of Boulder, died suddenly from COPD at home on October 2nd, 2019. He will be remembered by family and friends as a talented guitarist and artist, but perhaps more widely known as the Art Department Manager at Guiry's Color Center for the last 19 years. Carl leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Paula F. Moseley, and their teenager, Alisa "Al" Moseley as well as his beloved siblings, Christina Hall (Jeff), Zita Rose (Sara), and Ralph "Fritz" Moseley (Jeannette), from North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland, respectively.
Carl was born in Washington, D.C. on August 9, 1954 to Ruth and Ralph Moseley. He was the first of their four children. Ralph was an American, working for the CIA in Frankfurt, Germany where he fell in love with and married Ruth. Because Ruth was a German citizen, Ralph had to resign and so he brought his bride back to Washington to begin a new life together. Being such a good student, Carl earned a scholarship to attend McDonough Military Academy near Baltimore, from which he graduated high school in 1972. Carl went on to receive a scholarship for the University of Maryland, though he did not complete his degree at that time. Eventually, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1991 from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Unity Church (Valmont and Folsom) on Saturday, Nov 2nd at 1pm including reception and art show of Carl's work. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to attend our celebration and leave a sweet note or a sketch or bring a potluck dish to share.
