March 23, 1990 – November 5, 2025
Cassandra “Lalay” Bianca Gallegos was a beloved mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend whose presence could brighten any room. Born in Boulder and passing in Longmont, she lived a life filled with laughter, loyalty, and love. Her million-dollar smile and contagious laughter made her the life of the party wherever she went. To know Lalay was to know someone unapologetically genuine, no filter, always her true self, and always full of heart.
She was a die-hard Broncos fan who knew the game better than most announcers, and she held an honorary master’s in Raider-hating. She assisted others without ever seeking recognition, offering the shirt off her back and showing up for those she loved with unmatched loyalty. Her late-night calls, check-ins, and open-hearted conversations were a comfort to many.
Lalay earned her Accounting Degree from IMBC and was known to be a professional photo bomber, never camera shy, always ready with a pose and a laugh, just like Savannah, whom she deeply admired. She wrote in journals and poured her emotions and experiences onto the page, navigating her struggles with depression while encouraging others to ask for help. Despite her pain, she worked tirelessly to bring joy and light to those around her.
She cherished her family immensely, and is survived by her son Manny (14), her mother Tammy, her sister Nessy, her brother Balo, her grandmother Guadalupe, and all those she loved fiercely and completely. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents Ama and Apa, her great aunt Ester, her aunt Elizabeth “Felina”, her aunt Savannah, Miguel, and Ramon.
Lalay was loving and kind, loud in the best way, impossible to miss, and unforgettable to everyone who crossed her path. Her beautiful soul and bright spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and eternally loved. Lalay faced her own struggles with depression, and in honor of her journey, the family encourages anyone who may be struggling to reach out, speak up, and seek help. No one has to walk through darkness alone.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crist Mortuary, located at 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO, 80301, on November 18, 2025, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
