

Charles Manle Sorenson, 88, of Boulder, CO, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Longmont, CO. Charles was born on April 6, 1927 in Mason City, Iowa to Chris and Ella (Runden) Sorenson. He has lived in Wilmette, Illinois, Ouray, Colorado, Tucson, Arizona, and Evergreen, CO. Charles was an ordained Methodist minister and also obtained his Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology. He proudly served in the United States Army in World War II. Charles was self-employed ; he also worked for Selection Research International, Inc., a company that specializes in evaluating employees and their families for international assignments and building global talent development systems. Charles enjoyed communicating on amateur (ham) radio. He enjoyed music, travel, cross-country skiing and dancing. One of his most memorable life experiences was hiking 75 miles across the Alps of Switzerland.
Charles married Elinor McKercher on August 14, 1949 in Manly Iowa. He is survived by Elinor; sons Scott, Carl and Paul; and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Randall Sorenson.
A private gathering will be held at the Cremation Garden of Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, CO. Pam Everhart of Niwot United Methodist Church will be officiating.
