Cheryl Rae Marty was born in 1947 in California and died February 8, 2024 in Longmont, Colorado due to cancer. Cheryl spent many years in education, starting with teaching elementary students in Montana and Washington. She eventually became a trainer of teachers and moved to Minnesota where she held positions in the early days of computer technology use in schools.
Cheryl moved to Longmont in 2018 where she joined Congregation Har HaShem in Boulder. She became very active in women’s projects and played a leadership role in planning programs for the year. She became an active Mahjong player and helped others learn the game. People who knew her praised her for love, intelligence, leadership, thoughtfulness, tenacity and the compassion to take care of others.
Cheryl’s family includes husband Don Rawitsch, daughter Alisha (Matt) McCarthy, son Zachary (Bhakti) White, grandson Jagger White, stepson Jeff Rawitsch, stepdaughter Amy (Mitch) Christiansen, and sister Stephanie Marty.
