

Christine Ann Hoyt passed away October 30, 2024 at UCH University of Colorado Hospital. Her death was unexpected and sudden; she had developed an infection that she couldn’t overcome.
She was born in April of 1951 to Clarence and Fern Hoyt in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended Butler Elementary School in Fort Dodge before moving in 1958 to Bode, Iowa, and she graduated from Twin Rivers Community High School in 1969.
She loved music, and she participated in both solo and group performances. She was not only a vocalist, but also played saxophone, oboe, piano and church organ.
She attended Morningside College and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Journalism from Iowa State University in 1973. She was an alum of Mortar Board, the national senior honor society.
Professionally, Christine was best known as an expert seamstress and tailor. She owned CH Studios and Custom Clothiers, and she specialized in bridal and formal wear, while also providing the highest level of professional alterations and tailoring. For nearly fifty years, she was admired for the quality of her work as well as her humor and her customer relationships.
Christine enjoyed community service. As a member of the Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch for more than fifteen years, her awards included Rotarian of the Year, and her leadership roles included Club President and District Chair of World Community Service.
As an active and dedicated volunteer, Christine also made time for several other women’s organizations and service groups.
Christine loved world travel, and she returned with great stories from places in Europe, Asia and the US.
Christine adored her two nieces and one nephew. She brought joy to their lives, and they reciprocated. ‘Aunt Christine’ was special to each of them, and she will be missed.
Christine is survived by her brother, Dave, and his wife, Barbara, as well as nieces, Josephine Hoyt and Rebecca Hoyt, and nephew, Tim Hoyt. Also surviving her are her aunt, Margaret Hoyt, and cousins, Cindy Edwards, Linda Hoyt-Johannes, Paul Hoyt, Kenny Gustafson and Patty Gustafson-Vandi.
A Celebration of Christine’s Life will be held on Monday, December 16, at 2:00 pm at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Ave., Highlands Ranch, CO 80126. A reception will follow.
