

Connor David Oren, born on July 27, 1994, in Columbus, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2026, at the age of 32. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Connor grew up in Columbus, where he was known for his infectious smile, positivity, humor and adventurous spirit. He graduated from Columbus North High School and went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Kentucky.
Connor was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking in the mountains, canoeing in Canada with his brothers, dad and uncles, and exploring the beauty of the natural world through travel. Connor had a unique ability to make people laugh with his quick wit and sarcasm. He traveled with his close longtime friends on backpacking trips that included the Rocky Mountains, John Muir Trail, the Italian Dolomites, the Appalachian Trail among others.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Kathy Oren; his brothers, Ben and Peter Oren, his sister-in-law Kelsey Loughman, his nieces Isabelle and Maddie, his grandmother Jane Nerney; and countless family members, cousins, aunts, uncles and so many friends who will miss his loving spirit and positive energy. Connor’s legacy of love, adventure, and friendship will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on August 24, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00PM at Crist Mortuary in Boulder Colorado. A second gathering will be held on August 29, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Barkes Weaver and Glick on Washington St. in Columbus, Indiana.
Connor will be deeply missed but never forgotten. "In his death, constellations of craters the size of stars form in the hearts of Connor's people. Peace be the journey toward healing, gathering Connor's Light, picking the broken pieces up one by one, and collectively letting his colors shine on as new mosaics."
