
Corrine Pellillo Brase grew up in Dallas, Texas, and spent many happy summers visiting her grandparents in Boulder, Colorado. She later earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder. While there, she met her husband, Charlie Brase, who went on to earn his Ph.D. in mathematics and became a professor at Regis University after spending several years teaching in Hawaii.
Corrine taught mathematics at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton. Together, she and Charlie co-authored several mathematics textbooks, including an introductory statistics text that has remained in publication for more than 41 years.
Corrine and Charlie shared a love of travel and the outdoors. They enjoyed hiking, fishing, attending concerts and theater performances, and exploring a wide range of topics through lectures on philosophy, the environment, and other subjects. They also volunteered at a shelter serving individuals experiencing homelessness and were known for their generosity and commitment to their community.
Family meant a great deal to Corrine, and she often spoke of how blessed she was by her remarkable nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Corrine leaves behind her nieces Julia Warwick (Eric Cutler), Laura Haertling (Cody Andresen), Linda Haertling (Mark Meyer); nephews Walter Warwick (Cathy Chittum), Joel Haertling; John Haertling (Frances Haertling); great-nieces Kyla Cutler, Charlotte Haertling; great-nephews Duncan Honeycutt, Charles Honeycutt and Zane Haertling, and great-great-niece Juliette Ryan.
Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Brase, her sister, June Warwick-Annoni, and her brother, John Pellillo.
Corrine passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026.
A celebration of Corrine's life will be held at a later date.
