Donald Paul Traut, of Arvada, Colorado passed away on June 22, 2018 at the age of 77. He was born September 9, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to Joseph and Lillian Traut and spent his childhood between Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Englewood, Colorado.
Don obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder although he worked in the field of mechanical engineering until retirement. He married Carole Jean Olson in 1963 and moved to Arvada to raise a family.
His favorite activities were stream, lake and ice fishing, antelope and elk hunting, restoring his 1962 corvette and watching television.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Edward.
Don is survived by his wife Carole, daughters Lisa (Todd), Susan (Jef), Trudy (Bob), sister Charlotte, brother Ken, grandchildren Calvin, Conrad, Jesse, Seth, Elsa and Kelly, many nieces and nephews and other extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 11am, at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO.
