Donna Marie Boyd passed away peacefully at Brookdale Boulder Creek in Boulder, Colorado on Friday October 28, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born on July 27, 1931 in South Dakota and grew up in Marshall, MN. She was a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and was a teacher in Minnesota and Denver before marrying her husband David in 1958. They moved to Boulder in 1967, where they raised three children. Donna was an artist and photographer and was involved in the local arts community for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Rasmussen, and her sister Joan Rasmussen. She is survived by her husband David Boyd and their children, Lisa Boyd, Scot Boyd and Kristin Lavelle; along with her husband Michael Lavelle. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Serena Lucas and Shannon Lavelle, and a grandson Patrick Lavelle; and Serena’s mother Jennifer Lucas. She will be dearly missed. Services will be held Sunday November 6 at Ryssby Church 9000 N. 63rd St. Longmont at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Louisville Art Association.
