OBITUARY

Elise Andrea Highfill

November 12, 1988October 27, 2019

Elise Andrea Highfill, 30 years of age, passed away from complications of influenza on Sunday, October 27, 2019. She was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at a young age.

Not many were more understanding, compassionate, and tolerant than her. Kindness was her outstanding trait. Those who knew her well were always aware of it. A positive attitude overcame many obstacles in her shortened life. Her good-natured personality enabled a fulfilling journey, one of quiet confidence.

She was a lover of the fashion industry, always seeking out the latest new trend. Travel and good food were additional pursuits. Crisp fall mornings that required flannel attire were a favorite, as well as the smell of rain.

Her younger brother Harry was more than a sibling, he was a close friend. His never-ending support is what family is all about. His love for his sister was immense and appreciated by her. A close bond that will last his lifetime and beyond.

A 2007 graduate of Niwot High School and a student of the University of Pittsburgh Fashion Program, Elise became the area manager for John’s Cleaners stores. She often referred to her work as a second family with John being very supportive of her.

She leaves us with an example, a reminder to us all what a good life is.

Elise will forever be remembered by her immediate family members – her mother Linda Highfill, father Greg Highfill and step-mother Lori Highfill, brother Harry J Highfill II, and step-siblings Mark and Dana Mastrangelo. She leaves behind her close companion Red, her devoted Pomeranian.

Elise will be forever remembered by her many aunts and uncles- Mary Coyle & family, Laura Pearson & family, Debra Stellavato & family, Linda Stellavato & family, Donna Kondas, Richard Highfill, Robert Highfill & family, Kenneth Highfill & family, Edward Pearson & family, James Pearson & family, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Harry and Elizabeth Highfill, maternal grandparents Edward and Eleanor Pearson, and step-grandmother Ruth Stellavato. She is also predeceased by Stephen Highfill (uncle), Bruce Stellavato (step-uncle), Allison Pearson (aunt), Adia Meara Coyle (cousin) and Roxy (another beloved dog).

We are blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be dearly missed.

There will be a celebration of life at her Father’s home in Boulder in the Summer.

Linda...
I am heartbroken. I only met Elise once, when she was a little girl at your parent’s home in Longmont. It was August of 1996, and she was only 7 years old. I know this time for sure because we were with your family watching the Olympics in which Kerry Strug did that amazing vault. I very specifically remember what a little beauty Elise was, amazingly beautiful.... Moreover, she was such a sweetheart! She reminded me of you, in a way. Reading her obituary, I realize she always was that sweet little girl I met so long ago.
My heart goes out to you, and while your grief will linger for a long time or forever, I hope you will find some kind of peace in Elise’s memories, spirit, and eternal love.
With love and sympathy, Joni

I had so much fun working with Elise at the dry cleaners a few years back. She was always such a sunny personality, and always made the work days a fun time! I am happy and honored to have been able to know her. My condolences to her family that I know she had a very close bond with, and to all of the people in her life that she made sure always felt like family too.
