Elizabeth Gavel Lennon, age 92, passed away on November 15, 2018 in Boulder City, NV. She was born on June 27, 1926 in Las Animas, CO to Clara and Pierre Carrica. More commonly known as Betty, she called Denver, CO her home where she spent most of her life. Five years ago, Betty moved from Denver, CO to Boulder City, NV. In Denver, Betty retired from Wells Fargo Banking as a teller and customer service representative.
During her younger years, she loved to go Square Dancing and was a member of a Breakfast Club in Colorado. Betty was an avid crocheter, quilter and an exceptional seamstress. Betty made beautiful crotched blankets, Barbie dresses, and baby sweaters. She was very creative in that she could turn discarded containers such as a Clorox bottle into something beautiful and useful like coasters, hats or a crocheted swan. Betty was very social; she always had to have her coffee and visit with her neighbors. When she lived in her townhome in Denver Colorado, she participated in a coffee club with all the ladies in her neighborhood and enjoyed going to the pool for water walking.
Betty was devoted to and loved her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by her son Charles (Ann) Lennon; daughter Cheryl (Jim) King; brother Bob Carrica; sisters Alice McMechen and Beverly Lusk; four grandchildren David and Nicholas Lennon, Mikaela and Daniel King; and five great grandchildren.
