Ellen M. Smith

Ellen M. Smith of Boulder, CO passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Frasier Meadows. Ellen was born January 3, 1925 to George and Sophia (Frank ) Schuman in Sterling, CO. Ellen was raised and attended school in Sterling. After completing high school she worked as a Medical Assistant in Sterling for a number of years. On September 14, 1947 she married Harold H. Smith in Denver. Ellen and Harold farmed and raised their family in Sterling, and later moved to Boulder in 1968. She collected dolls, enjoyed gardening, entertaining family and friends, and loving her grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by daughter, Donna Nelson of Arvada; sons Daryl Smith of Boulder, Duane Smith of Northglenn and Dwight Smith of Littleton; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Smith.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:30 pm, Monday November 21, 2011 at Crist Mortuary. Funeral services to be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Crist Mortuary. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, Boulder, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, or Boulder Valley Humane Society.
