Frances Mae Boggs

Born to Lela Mae Calhoun and Dennis Irl Boggs. She grew up in Silver Spring, MD and graduated from Montgomery High School before attending Lambeth College in Tennessee.

She married Kent Duane Boggs on August 7, 1953, in Gordonville, VA. Together they had five children; Roger, Richard, Laura, William “Chip”, and James. The family moved to Boulder, CO in August of 1968. The family joined Mountain View Methodist Church shortly after arriving to Boulder. Frances would spend an incredible 25 years at Crist Mortuary after a long stint of driving a bus for the Boulder Valley School District.

Frances is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Babe) Cvetic, children Laura (Boggs) Urbain (Leon), and James Boggs (Edelyn), grandchildren Travis Boggs, Melissa Urbain, Dextr Boggs, Melinda Urbain, Richard Boggs, Miranda (Urbain) Shoats, and Jameson Boggs. Great-grandchildren Billi, Dextr, Tyler, Autumn, Lela, Madison, Preston, Xavier, and Quentin, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband Kent, sons Roger, Richard, and Chip, parents Lela and Dennis, and brother Larry.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 6th at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Pl., Boulder, CO 80301.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 7th at Mountain View Methodist Church, 355 Ponca Pl., Boulder, CO 80303.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in Frances’ honor to Mountain View Methodist Church.
