Georgette Elserougi, a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, resilience, and devotion to God, the Virgin Mary, and her family, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.
Born on January 1, 1943, in Jaffa, Palestine, Georgette was the daughter of Ghali Girgis and Nahil Fadlo Mitri. In 1948, her family was forced to leave Jaffa and immigrated to Egypt, where she grew up with her siblings, George, Hilda, Janet, and Elias.
In Cairo, Georgette married Ayoub Elserougi on September 2, 1956. Together they built a life rooted in family and hard work. Years later, they immigrated to the United States, where they made Colorado their home and raised their children.
Georgette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found joy in cooking, telling stories from her past, traveling, and hosting gatherings that brought together family and friends. She was known for her warmth, her generosity, and her ability to keep connections strong across generations and distances. Those who knew her, near and far, loved and respected her deeply.
She is survived by her children Tony, Noha, and Nabil, her stepson Eissa, and their spouses; her 12 grandchildren, Nancy, Lillian, Mary, Kristen, AJ, Shanyn, Shereen, Ashraf, Leanna, Andrea, Gabriella, and Jasmin, and her 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy.
Georgette’s memory will live on in the love she gave so freely and the legacy she leaves through her family.
