Helene Berzin our loving mother, grandmother & great grandmother passed in peace June 1, 2013. We are so blessed to have had her for 94 wonderful years. Born at home on June 24, 1919 in Paterson, NJ to Sarah and Samuel Lefkowitz of Austria & Hungary , Helene Lefkowitz was the youngest daughter of 8. She shared a loving life with her husband, “Bob”, of 66 years making residence in Fairt Lawn and Bradley Beach, NJ as well as Delray Beach, FL. They eventually moved to Golden West in Boulder, CO after many scares from hurricanes at the shore. Helene held the position as Sorority President at Temple Emanuel in Paterson, NJ for several years. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and Canasta and cooking for her friends and family. Always full of life and smiles, she touched all she met. Helene is preceded in death by her beloved husband. She is survived by 2 children Sharan Berzin Jones and Alan Berzin; grandchildren Blair Jones, Stuart Berzin and Jennifer Rubin; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2013, 9:45 am at Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Helene’s honor be made to Jewish Family Services, Boulder, CO.
