John “Jack” Allsbrook Schrenk, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at his home in Parker, CO, along side with his wife, Nora Lydia Schrenk. Jack fought a long struggle with melanoma and fought it to the very end. He was born October 16, 1933 in Savannah, Georgia, to John Lee Schrenk and Helen Florence Allsbrook-Schrenk.
He and his parents moved to Boulder, Colorado when he was 18 months old. He attended Casey Junior High School in Boulder, and then he served in the US Navy from November of 1951 to November of 1955, where he successfully completed his high school education. He later applied and was accepted into Colorado State University, where he achieved his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Administration, and a minor in Economics.
Jack married Carol Belle Schrenk in 1957. They raised three (3) sons together, John (J.T), Mike, and Chris. They lived in various areas of Colorado and Utah, and they cherished their family time together with camping, fishing, and family vacations to Las Vegas, Disneyland, and mountain related get aways. Sadly, Carol had passed away unexpected in 1983. Jack loved her dearly and as to be expected this was a challenging time on him and his sons. In 1986, Jack met Nora Lydia Auerbach, and they fell in love and were married on October 03, 1987.
He was both employed and self-employed throughout his career, having worked for Goodyear International, and later serving as a Vice President for Farmland Industries out of Kansas City, MO. Jack successfully retired in 1985. Furthermore, he purchased two Subway franchises, which he owned and operated for several years before selling them.
Jack and Nora lived in Parker, CO, where they absolutely adored their schnauzer, “Whitney”, and they made their home a beautiful sanctuary for all to visit and see. They experienced a plethora of cultures while traveling extensively, and they routinely built a magnificent garden that was envied by all.
He is survived by his wife Nora Schrenk, his sister Sara Forsythe, his son John “JT” Schrenk, his son Michael Schrenk and his wife Carla, his son Christopher Schrenk and his wife Gail, his three grandchildren Jonathan, Megan, Mathew, and his great granddaughter Juliana.
He will be buried at Mountain View Memorial Park, 3016 Kalmia Ave., Boulder, CO 80301.
