James Robert McConnell II was an avid pursuer of knowledge, constantly seeking to expand his horizons. He enjoyed spending time outdoors in his beloved Colorado and shreddin' the majestic mountains on his snowboard. Jimmy, as he was known, was not short of personality, he had a wicked sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. Compassionate and caring he would go out of his way to help those in need.
Jimmy was born April 18, 1980 in Colorado Springs, CO to James Robert McConnell and Alice Kaye McConnell (Linneman), and he left this world on July 5, 2016 in pursuit of his next great adventure. He spent the first five years of his life in the Springs until his family moved to Grand Junction. Jimmy attended Grand Junction High School and graduated in 1998. After high school he left Grand Junction to attend college. After a time he settled in Boulder in 2010. Jimmy had a passion for photography and was the 2013 Boulder Photographer of the Year and a finalist for the Best Photo of the Year in Laguna Beach in 2010. He started his own photography business in 2012 called Business View Photo. Jimmy never married or had children of his own but loved spending time with his family especially his niece and nephew.
Jimmy is survived by his parents Jim and Kaye; sister Kendra Prospero (Bert); his beautiful niece Alexandra; his nephew James; aunt Ardith Johnson, and many friends.
