Jeannine, or Jeannie, was known for her generous heart and open home—believing that any gathering was better with more people around the table and more to share. Her life was defined by service, faith, friendship, and an enduring commitment to helping others.
Born on August 7, 1937, to John E. and Lucille Pulver, Jeannie grew up during the Great Depression. Even at a young age, she absorbed the lasting lesson that compassion and kindness matter most, especially in times of hardship. These values stayed with her throughout her life.
Jeannie attended Boulder High School, where she was a cheerleader and a proud graduate of the class of 1955. She went on to earn her degree in education from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1959. After graduation, she and her best friend embarked on teaching careers in California before Jeannie returned home to Boulder in 1962.
In July of 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald K. Myers. Together, they built a loving life and raised three children: Ken (Jenine, Rangely, CO), Amy (Michael, Louisville, CO), and Scott (Erin, Littleton, CO). Later in life—after her children were grown—Jeannie earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, a proud accomplishment that reflected her lifelong love of learning.
Jeannie dedicated more than 20 years to the Boulder Valley School District, first as a substitute teacher and later teaching across several elementary grade levels. She retired in 1999, having impacted countless students. Every time she switched grades, she felt it was more enjoyable than the one before.
A passionate University of Colorado Buffaloes fan, Jeannie delighted in her active involvement with the Buffalo Belles and treasured the friendships, memories, and opportunities to meet coaches and players over the years. She was equally committed to service, involved with PEO, NEA, and ADK. She served as president of the Colorado Hospital Volunteers statewide organization from 2007–2008 and was a proud 70 year member of Delta Gamma sorority.
Faith was central to Jeannie’s life. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and, until the challenges of COVID, rarely missed a Mass—no matter where her travels took her, including to Mexico and pilgrimages throughout the world that became cherished stories. She enjoyed her bridge group of more than 50 years, participated in a beloved piano group, and remained actively engaged in her community.
Jeannie’s life was one of kindness, commitment, laughter, and love—leaving a lasting imprint on her family, her students, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Jeannine is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ron; her three children; and her treasured grandchildren, Logan (Amy), Paityn, and Keihlin (Ken), as well as her brother James Pulver. She was preceded in death by her brother John Pulver.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
