

Jerry was born to J.D. Lockwood and Joyce Medlock Lockwood at the Anadarko, OK Indian Hospital on June 11, 1951. Jerry spent his early childhood living in Norman, OK before his younger brother, Jon, was born and the family moved to Hobart, OK. Jerry graduated from Hobart High School in 1969 and went on to study at his beloved Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. While at OSU, Jerry met his wife, Martha, cheered on his cowboys and was active on campus, including at his Delta Chi Fraternity. He graduated from OSU in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Shortly after graduation, he married Martha at Bennett Chapel on May 25, 1974.
Jerry earned his post graduate degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas before studying law at the University of Tulsa.
After moving to Boulder in 1980, Jerry served as the District Court Administrator of the 20th Judicial District. In 1984, Jerry co-founded Judicial Arbiter Group, Inc. and led the company as president until 2011. Jerry also pursued his passion for the great Southwest by co-founding Two Ravens Pottery to promote Native American artists and culture.
Jerry devoted his life to his family including his son, Jared, and his daughter, Jocelyn. He spent endless hours supporting their interests including the South Boulder Little League and Fairview Knights Athletics.
Jerry was no stranger to politics. Anyone who knew Jerry, knew he enjoyed a good political discussion. In fact, Jerry served as a delegate for President Obama at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Martha, of Boulder, CO; his son Jared Lockwood of Denver, CO; his daughter Jocelyn Meyers and son-in-law Daniel Meyers of New Orleans, LA; his brother Jon Lockwood and sister-in-law Alicia Lockwood of Tulsa, OK; mother-in-law Jeanne O’Meilia; as well as numerous other brother-and-sister-in-laws, four aunts and one uncle, many beloved nieces and nephews and a large number of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct.4th from 5-7PM at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 5th at 2PM at Macky Auditorium Concert Hall, CU Campus-Boulder. Additional service and burial to follow in Stillwater, OK.
