
Jo Hyatt Caldwell (65), passed away in the presence of her loved ones on September 18th at her residence in Boulder, CO. A resident of Colorado since 1964, Mrs. Caldwell was born on June 29, 1951 to Charles “Chuck” and Mildred “Irene” Hyatt in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She grew up in a multitude of locations as her father travelled for work in the oil industry. As a child she lived in Bogata, Columbia; Cochabamba, Bolivia; and Midland, Texas before her family settled down in Boulder, Colorado. Jo attended and graduated from Fairview Highschool in 1969 where she was an outstanding student and cheerleader.
Jo went on to become a proud and successful flight attendent for PanAm after a stint at CSU. She worked for PanAm for 14 years visiting countless countries and every continent barring Antartica. Through associations with pilots and the flying community Jo met her future husband, Mr. Robert “Bob” Caldwell, a Boulder hangliding pilot and engineer. They were married for 26 years and had two children, Brendan and Sean Caldwell both of Denver.
As a new mother Jo retired from flying with PanAm to become an interior designer, philanthropist, flower gardener and mom. She is survived by her sons and sister Debbie Hyatt while preceded in death by her mother Irene in 2016; father Chuck in 1984; and brother Charles “Chico” Hyatt in 1965.
Services will be at 10AM on September 27, 2016 at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder.
