After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), she taught for many years in the Kiski Area School District in Pennsylvania enjoying each and every moment. She also obtained a Master’s Degree from IUP and became a reading specialist at Kiski.
Joan is survived by her children and grandchildren who all reside in Colorado; daughter Michelle Raymond Hackmann and son Jon (Amy) Raymond; grandchildren Erich (Michaela Cui) Hackmann, Amanda Rose Hackmann, Abby (Josh) Hackmann Peters, Nicholas Raymond, Kaitlin Raymond and great grand-daughter Hailey Jade Peters. She is preceded in death by her husband James “Jimmy” Raymond.
Please note that a formal mass will be held at St. Gertrude’s Church in Vandergrift, PA to celebrate both of their lives this Spring or early Summer. Details will be forthcoming.
