Dearest Anna and Family,  I send love and support to you as John returns to the Source he knew and taught about so beautifully.  I remember your kindness and John's presence after my accident. I am very blessed to have meet John and took a class from him a few years ago.   He was a remarkable man, so gifted and full of love.   He will be missed and I am thankful for all he was able to accomplish.   Bless you all who loved him and called him friend, husband, father.

I just found out about John's passing and wanted to add a simple note of deep appreciation for the healing he offered me during many sessions when I was going through a tremendously challenging time. He was a lovely man- caring, deeply intelligent and highly creative. I will never forget him. Thank you John, from the bottom of my heart!

As neighbors and friends of friends, our paths didn't cross often with John's in this lifetime.  But, it was enough to know that John was special.  We remember visiting with him at gatherings of neighbors and friends.   He so carefully crafted Christmas ornaments for his daughter at a yearly holiday gathering.   What shone through was John's focus and committment - to his family, to his work and to his health.  He seemed to have the ability to blur the lines between them to experience the fullness of life.  He shared copies of his books freely,  with a desire for feedback and discussion.

Our thoughts and hearts are with you Anna, Lizzy, Hector and little Azul.  What a gift that John was able to share time on this earth with his grand baby. 

The bible considers three score and ten a full lifetime -- and John lived his to the fullest. I met John at Princeton a half century ago (but it doesn't seem that long).  He and I worked together at The Daily Princetonian and I have many great memories of his energy and journalistic skill.  Through the years, we caught up at reunions (although I could never catch him at 'Prince' touch football games) and when he came to Baltimore to visit family.  John was quick -- in every sense of the word.  Yet he was also insightful and gentle, a rare combination of gifts in this hurried world.   Perhaps his last book, "Working with Babies," demonstrates that best.   All of us who knew him "then" will miss him now. 

I had the privilege of experiencing John's lectures at an APTA conference more than once. "The Heart Is More Than Just a Pump" was groundbreaking and in his memory I will (once again) review my notes! Evolve in peace, John!

John was a wonderful man who brought life and love to this world.
Our planet would be  in a much better place if everyone was as  caring, loving, and intelligent as John. We have indeed been very fortunate to have had John as a mentor, teacher and colleague.

Sending love and light to Anna and family in this difficult time. I was very sad to hear of John's passing as we shared our journey with cancer for many years. I received my APP in the late 90s which was my introduction to Polarity and John and Anna. John was a very important part of my healing from stage 4 liver cancer, first diagnosed in 2010.  He was a gifted healer. I believe that my work with him, his insights and suggestions, were a critical part of my success in overcoming.  The Doctor's say my healing was a miracle. I remain thankful and grateful for John and the part he played in my life and miracles. 

I'm so touched what each person has shared here about their moments with John and affections for John. 

Anna, I am very sorry for your loss.

I mourn for my dearest friend, fan and student, master and counselor, teacher and stimulator, but most of all my dear comrade in battle and mission to bring spirit to the heart of people.

With him a great human being passed away. Always looking for the bright spiritual side of life. Always trying to connect people and opinions and find the in-between of the polarities. Always believing that the pendulum will swing back to the other pole. Always convinced that one rather must look for what connects us than what separates us. His Buddhist lifestyle encouraged everyone who had to deal with him. Together with Anne he created in the Colorado School of Energy Studies a center for spiritual sciences and peace of mind for people who wanted to be comforted by teachers from all over the world with the conviction and the belief that within the human being there is a higher power, aiming to realize Love and Spirit in this turbulent world. A gentle peace seeking open mind for others and for the ideas of others.

We owe him a lot. The courses he gave, the seminars he organized, the books he wrote, they all are sparkles of the light of spirit. I owe him a lot. He brought me (invited me) in 2003 to the USA and nearly every (two) year(s) it has been an honor for me to give my course The Embryo in Us in the CSESs. With John as facilitator and backup those courses were always highlights: he managed to create a stimulating atmosphere  to bring my science of heart about the human embryo. Thank you John.

Anna and Family,
A beautiful soul and a great man has returned to The True Source of his beauty and greatness. John being in the World made it a better place for all of us. Now he is gone. What a huge loss. We express our sincerest condolences.

It was always. so good to know that i could just dial a number and talk to John--new Polyvagal ideas, new thoughts.-- Lately he would always  say- so far ,so good....So this feels  so sudden although it wasn,t sudden.....and it left an big empty space.

To Anna and her family, we send our sincere condolences.  
My husband and I met John when our son Adam took polarity training with him many years ago.  Adam learned so much from that training and gained a deep appreciation for body healing.  John was always a thoughtful listener for Adam throughout the years, offering guidance and love  for which we are deeply grateful.  
John also gave me many polarity sessions that helped heal my negative feelings towards my father.  I still draw upon the wisdom and love I gained during those sessions, especially when I feel discouraged.    What a gift John was to this troubled world.  His  serene patience and loving attention were ports in the storm of this complicated life.


I am so sad to see John go, although I am inspired by how he was able to manage his condition for so long. John was one of the important  inspirations and supporters for me learning and then teaching Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. I remember John reassuring me that the training didn't involve too much work, as I was concerned about taking it while I was completing my PhD. I didn't know then how much John was capable of. To me it was a lot of work! But John used to say, "Sleep is over-rated." He seemed devoted to creating so much in this life time, and he did so! I am so grateful to have known and been mentored by both John and Anna. I have fond memories of us all painting their new building in Boulder where we all were to have offices. I then was puzzled by the laughter coming through the wall of my office when trainings were happening. My friends who were in the the trainings informed me that John had become even funnier. Thank you John for sharing your bright light with so many of us so beautifully. I feel especially sad for Anna and want you to know I am really holding you in my heart. Much love to you at this time of transition.

It was with a heavy heart that I read of John's passing.  Although I never met him or you,  Anna, I am a long-time student of Ray's and was a facilitator at Beba for years.  I can only believe that there is a wider and deeper mission for all the souls passing now, to assist us in our commitment to Mother Earth and her inhabitants.

Sending a big hug and blessings from the Buddhic universes to you and your family, and wishing John a safe passage through the Bardos.  

First I want to say from my heart to Anna and her family, I am sorry for your loss.

John was a Gentle Warrior. From the first time I met him when Polarity Therapy was just being launched and APTA was just beginning, I was blessed to have gotten to know this wonderful man. I served as Vice President under John with APTA in 1990. We would have these long Board meetings and he was always so calm, centerd and wise.
One Polarity Conference, I think it was in 1991, I had to leave a class on Birth Trauma because I was so triggered. I had just experienced deep trauma from my third son's premature birth. He was only 2 lbs. when he was born.
I was walking back to my room, sobbing and John saw me and sat me down in his space. He talked me through my first SE session and I left feeling a deep sense of gratitude and hope.
He was so compassionate and present.
And I know threw all these years, John continued to support Polarity Therapy from his heart.
Sweet friend, you will be dearly missed!!!

John was such a special soul and bright light to all the lives he touched. I'm so grateful Anna, to have known you and John for the last 26 years.  John was a friend,  mentor, teacher,  colleague and most of all to me, a living example of a good man.  His kind, warm heart, keen intellect and wonderful sense of humor will live on in my heart and I know in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.  Thank you for all that you have done to make it possible for so many to get to know and love your beloved, John.  My heart goes out to you and Liz, Hector, Azul and the entire Chitty family and this time of great change in your lives, and in all of our lives, as his reach was far, and he touched so many with is bright light.

Anna, I am so sorry for your loss.  I worked with John in APTA in one way or another since about 1987.  John was a great light and made a huge contribution to APTA and Polarity.  He will be missed.

John was a healer and brought his light to me in some dark times.  He was always loving and honest about himself and me.  I treasure the times we spent together in his offices and will always keep the light of his graciousness in my heart.
