Kalman Halasi, Jr. of Boulder passed away August 31, 2010, surrounded by loving family and friends whose lives he greatly enriched. Kalman was born July 6, 1944, in Budapest, Hungary, and lived in Germany, Austria and France before immigrating with his family to Denver, CO in December, 1953. Kalman graduated from Denver West High School in 1963, moved to Boulder, and attended the University of Colorado. He was an enthusiastic and accomplished cyclist and was the Colorado State Bicycling Champion for five consecutive years. In addition to his devotion to his children, his passions included the outdoors, classical music, reading, cooking and fine wines. He is survived by his three children: Kathryn, Alex and Andrew; his grandson, Toby; his three siblings: Emöke Kosina, Csilla Pulai and Kadosa Halasi; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all his family and friends, whom he left far too early.
