Kate E. Riesel

Kate E. Riesel of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away June 8, 2014 in Loveland, Colorado. Kate was born October 16, 1922 in Neppermin, Germany to Wilhelm and Erna Vinzelberg. She married Werner Karl Riesel and together they had three children. Kate worked as a clerk at New Age Foods and Hannah's Herb Shop in Boulder, Colorado for several years. She was also a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder. Kate was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved visiting with people, sharing stories and being with family. She is survived by her children Christiane (Earl) Cochran, Dennis Riesel, and Susie (Scott) Wiebers; sister Irma Geils and family; grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Duettra, Andrew (Mari) Riesel, Kate (Mike) Auen, Megan Riesel, Kelly (Jeremy) Capansky, Jill Wiebers and Ben Wiebers; great grandchildren Gabriel Riesel, Madison Riesel, Aviana Riesel, Gage Riesel, Lane Capansky, Maycee Capansky, and Toby Auen. She is preceded in death by her husband Werner, parents Wilhelm and Erna Vinzelberg and brother Otto Vinzelberg. Kate was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held at 10am followed by a funeral service at 11am. Both at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, Colorado 80301. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Kate's honor can be made to either the Denver Rescue Mission or a Hospice of your choice.
