Kathleen K. Collins, lovingly known as Kathy, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2026, in Loveland, Colorado, at the age of 76. She passed peacefully of natural causes. While her passing brings deep sorrow, her family finds comfort in the assurance that she now rests in eternal peace, healed and whole in the presence of Jesus.
Kathleen was born on April 10, 1949, in Creston, Iowa, to Charles and Dorothy Woods. When she was just three or four years old, her family moved to Colorado, where she grew up in Superior, Colorado, a place that always remained dear to her heart. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1967.
Kathleen married Robert L. Juhl of Boulder, Colorado, and together they welcomed one daughter, Brenda K. Juhl, who was the joy of her life. Though Kathleen and Bob later divorced, family remained the center of her world. She later married Todd Collins, a marriage that also ended after a few years.
Kathleen was a devoted mother, a loving mother-in-law to Mike West, and a proud grandmother to Lauretta and Kayla West. Her heart overflowed with love for her three great-granddaughters, Nevaeh, Aryana, and Wrenley. She especially cherished the time she spent helping care for Nevaeh and Aryana, pouring love, patience, and guidance into their young lives until her health began to decline. Eventually, Kathleen moved to assisted living in Loveland, where she continued to face life with faith and grace.
She is also remembered with love by her siblings, Dean, Dennis, and Karen Byrns, and Greg Woods. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Woods, and her brothers Dean and Dennis Byrns, and her sister Karen Byrns.
Kathleen built a meaningful career marked not only by professional success but by deep relationships. Everywhere she worked, she formed lifelong friendships. She spent approximately 15 years at Trust Company of America, where she rose to become Vice President of Marketing. She later worked in marketing at InTrust for about four years. Answering a deeper calling, Kathleen then joined the Denver Rescue Mission as a Clinic Supervisor, a role that reflected her compassionate heart and desire to serve those in need. It was from the Denver Rescue Mission that she retired, grateful for the opportunity to serve others in Christ’s name.
Retirement did not end her service to God. Guided by her unwavering faith, Kathleen became a Stephen Minister at New Creation Church in Longmont, where she continued to do the Lord’s work by offering care, encouragement, and Christ-centered compassion to others. Her faith was lived out daily through kindness, humility, and quiet strength.
Kathleen’s life was a testimony to God’s grace and faithfulness. She trusted deeply in His promises and lived with a steady, enduring faith that carried her through every season. Those who knew her will remember her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the way she reflected Christ through her actions.
A Celebration of Life will be held this spring. Details will be shared at a later date, and this obituary will be updated when arrangements are finalized.
Kathleen will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished until the day her family is reunited with her again.
