Born on November 19, 1931, in Toisan, a small town near Guangzhou, China, Ling grew up in a close knit community shaped by tradition, resilience, diligence, compassion, and family. Those early years instilled in her the strength, generosity, and quiet determination that would define her life. She married Sam Lung Kin Louie on December 29, 1949, and had five children in Guangzhou, China, and two in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Ling later immigrated to the United States with her family, building a life rooted in hard work, devotion, and deep care for her growing family. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home that became the heart of countless gatherings, celebrations, and shared meals and traditions.
She is survived by her seven children, thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her legacy of kindness, diligence, perseverance, and love. Ling’s greatest joy was her family, and she took pride in seeing each new generation flourish.
Known for her sweet, gentle spirit, zest for life, joyfulness, optimism, steady wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those she loved, Ling touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration.
