Marilyn “Midge” Wonsiewicz” of Boulder, Colorado, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 22. Born in Aurora, Illinois, she grew up on a farm in Plainfield and attended the University of Illinois with a degree in speech pathology and was a proud member of the 4H.
Married for 55 years to the late Bud Wonsiewicz, the family moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1967. Midge was a long-time speech tutor and substitute teacher in the Memphis City School System.
Her passions were her family, where she enjoyed travelling to every special occasion all over the country, baking cookies, watching football and basketball on TV, and writing notes.
Midge is survived by her sister Eleanor of North Oaks, Minnesota, and her four children: Martin of Trumbull, Connecticut; Steve of Nashville, Tennessee; Michael of Portland Oregon; Patricia of Boulder, Colorado; and her grandchildren Chris, Nate, Ethan, Alex, Kelly, Emily, Sam and Kate.
Midge lived at Golden West for the past eight years and was an enthusiastic and beloved member of the Red Hats and Drama Group.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 26, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Golden West, 1055 Adams Circle, in Boulder. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Midge’s memory to the Golden West Foundation.
